Assault Survivor Kits®

Annually we supply over 240 Assault Survivor Kits to the three San Diego County Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) facilities. Since each survivor's clothing is kept as evidence, having a change of clothes available for them becomes a critical item. The survivors leave the hospital with a set of new clothes and personal hygiene items. They know that someone cares.

Hug-A-Bear

This program touches the lives of hundreds of trauma survivors by providing a sense of comfort as they respond to life's uncertainties.

Rancho San Dieguito volunteers work through local hospitals, fire departments and service agencies. We provide over 1,000 plush teddy bears to comfort trauma victims.

Knifty Knitters

Volunteers hand-knit children's afghans, layettes and preemie caps for local military families. Annually, our member volunteers deliver over 200 layettes to the Balboa Naval Hospital and to the Miramar Naval-Marine Aid Society.

Operation School Bell®

Annually, our volunteers provide over 1,500 children a set of new clothes, school supplies and, when requested by school personnel, an age-appropriate dictionary.

We are proud that this program has grown to meet the requests of local schools. We coordinate with school administrators and regional nurses to identify which families are in need of financial assistance and support.

Preschool English Literacy Program

Each week Assistance League of Rancho San Dieguito volunteers team with the Head Start Program at St. Leo's in Solana Beach to prepare preschoolers for kindergarten. Volunteers work to improve the preschoolers' English skills through games and exercises in reading and math. Annually our volunteers contribute to the school readiness of over 70 children.
