Assault Survivor Kits®

Annually we supply over 240 Assault Survivor Kits to the three San Diego County Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) facilities. Since each survivor's clothing is kept as evidence, having a change of clothes available for them becomes a critical item. The survivors leave the hospital with a set of new clothes and personal hygiene items. They know that someone cares.

Hug-A-Bear

This program touches the lives of hundreds of trauma survivors by providing a sense of comfort as they respond to life's uncertainties.

Rancho San Dieguito volunteers work through local hospitals, fire departments and service agencies. We provide over 1,000 plush teddy bears to comfort trauma victims.

Knifty Knitters

Members work with prenatal instructors at Balboa Naval Hospital and the auxiliary at Miramar Marine Airbase. Members knit sweaters, hats and blankets for preemie babies.

Operation School Bell®

Studies show that children who come to school inappropriately dressed are at a disadvantage and that appropriate school clothing can improve school attendance and help classroom performance. By providing proper clothing Operation School Bell helps children arrive in the classroom better prepared to learn.

We are proud that Operation School Bell has grown to meet the requests of local schools.

Pillowcases

Members make cheerful pillowcases for sick children and deliver them to the Optimists of Del Mar/Solana Beach who distribute them to local hospitals.

Preschool English Literacy Program

Each week Assistance League of Rancho San Dieguito volunteers team with the Head Start Program at St. Leo's in Solana Beach to prepare preschoolers for kindergarten. Volunteers work to improve the preschoolers' English skills through games and exercises in reading and math. Annually our volunteers contribute to the school readiness of over 70 children.
